How to play Connect Four
- The board has seven columns and six rows. Whoever opens plays blue and goes first; the other player is amber.
- On your turn, tap a column: your disc drops to the lowest free space in it.
- Four of your discs in a row — across, down or diagonally — wins.
- If the board fills with no line of four, it is a draw.
How to play with a friend
- Tap “Play with a friend” above. RoomDrift opens a Connect Four game and gives you a six-character code.
- Send the code or the invite link to your friend — any messaging app works.
- Play. The game starts the moment they join, with a chat beside the board.
Tips to win
- Play the middle column. It is part of more possible fours than any other, so control it early.
- Watch the square above. Before you drop a disc, check you are not giving your opponent the space right on top of it.
- Make threats on different rows. Two threats stacked one above the other can force a win when the column fills up.
